Realized that I hadn't had a copy of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link since I was a kid. Really thought I did all this time, but apparently not! Really lucked out here, found a CIB copy for a loose cart price. Everything's comin' up Milhouse. 🙏

For sure, there's something to be said about the enduring ripple effect of the earliest "retro games content" on the internet pre-loading expectations for younger generations. Like, someone born in 2000 doesn't need to have any familiarity with AVGN to be holding some preconceived notions about Simon's Quest that were popularized by that video. BUT! I think what you pointed out regarding first party Nintendo games receiving more attention and thusly more criticism is fascinating. That's the kind of thing I would love to have an overlong drawn out conversation about.
