we are aware of an issue causing some posts to not display images embedded in the post text using markdown ![]() or html <img>. we have some theories about what might be causing this, but are currently unable to reproduce the issue in any of our local environments.

given that this issue is not impacting site availability, we are unable to easily reproduce it, and it's a saturday, we will be investigating further on monday. the data saved for the posts has not changed, so once we fix the issue, the display of the posts will return to normal.

sorry for the inconvenience. we'll report back once it's fixed. thanks for using cohost :eggbug:

in reply to @staff's post:

i may have run into this at work. i usually use the guest wifi if my phones network is slow & specifically i was trying to make sure the pixels art i recently posted were looking good. theyre hosted on neocities

on the guest wifi they were gone - on the normal phone network it was fine. i kind of assumed it was because neocities was on the guest wifi blocklist. i dont know if this is the same issue, and in retrospect if thats even how it works, lol

worst comes to worse, I did notice css background-image properties do work, so you can probably make a tag work for that purpose if necessary until they fix it c:
bit janky but iiwii

something like:

<span style="background-image: url('https://staging.cohostcdn.org/attachment/044fa03b-44fc-4820-876d-72f6742e321f/image.png'); background-size: contain; margin: 0; max-width: 100%; display: block;"></span>
