Gotta love how GAMERStm (and certain streamers) earlier this year were making all the mental gymnastics in the world to justify giving shameless transphobe and mediocre book author, Joker Rolling-In-My-Goddamn-Grave, more money than she already has, by buying/promoting an okay-at-best wizard game full of antisemitic tropes.
But the MOMENT a hard sci-fi RPG (also probably okay-at-best because, come on, this is bethesda we're talking about) includes the option to set your pronouns, which is a perfectly normal part of any human language that also, SHOCKS AND HORRORS, includes more options than just "he" and "she?" All of a sudden they act like starfield took a heaving shit in their cornflakes, and therefore deserves a full blown boycott.
The people who work in the AAA game industry, who have historically been exploited and treated like dogshit by their bosses, are on the cusp of joining a growing union movement of writers and actors in america as we speak, which (if things go the workers way) could potentially lead to the quality of AAA titles more generally skyrocketing (and gig size of those games becoming smaller PLEASE compress your textures and sounds).
But okay sure, apparently according to some fucking gammon on twitter, the biggest threat facing video games today are not crunch-happy live-service obsessed corporate higherups, but PrOnOuNs in a space sim.
