now this is a fun one
I originally made Gorlak to be a character in an rpg system made by our very asker but I'm not sure I could do that now because I don't feel like I could properly express him mechanically now that his potential suite of abilities is as large as it is.
But a fighting game does not have this problem!
So gorlak has 10 skills each allowing him to learn 2-4 abilities per skill. (this is why I have a hard time thinking about how he would play in a system with a small, locked in moveset)
We have a lot to work with here.
He would be able to freely fly in the air for a short time (similar to magneto or merkava) His flight abilities could also be expressed through projectiles that have a curved arc or line cutter being one of those moves where you teleport dash and its a hit.
Bone rattler from his strength moves would be some normal that puts his opponent in a stagger state for easy combo setup/extension and Lordly Rake would probably be a super
He has two moves that give him a counter attack stance so you KNOW he has a parry in there somewhere.
His arcana and lore moves would def give him some projectiles. Warlock Crash from his arcana moveset would def be a super at least.
I'm not sure what his drama moves would let him do in a fighter context but ultimately I'm mostly imagining he wants to play with space and throws out a lot of projectiles that go in weird paths. a zoner who wants to stay at mid range i think.
somethin i was thinking about while writing this that i forgot to actually put in is that a part of gorlak's essential mechanical core as a character in general to me is that his kit is something that depends on the choices you make with him as you play him. specifically i think this means he would have something like susano-o's move unlocking thing he has in blazblue
also a lot of his moves would have him wielding 3 of his 6 available weapon types.
an axe because i like when you have moves that are a big slow swing
dagger because claws would be like him doing normal claw swipes and a dagger is less dragony (being a dragon that doesn't wanna perform dragulinity is kinda important to his character)
and and orb for spells because i think the animations for it could be really fun and also he could have normals where he's trying to swing it around, maybe throwing it too. (funny)
