Tired mid 30s artist

This is painted with liquitex acrylic gouache which I've been playing with.

My process is probably a little messier than these paints were really intended for, as you can make big flat shapes with them, but I ended up needing to go over the white area with some normal acrylic to get rid of previous paw placements.

I've never been one to record my drawing sessions digitally because I thought it would seem strange to people how much I destroy while I hunt for the image I am making, but paint leaves the subtle ghost of it in ways that I cannot completely erase, and that is new and interesting to me.

Mentally gearing up to share more, this is a 2021 painting (18x24, acrylic). I'm reconfiguring my office to accommodate sitting at my easel more.

I've always liked these abstracted skulls with strange energy about them, but post school (2010) I hadn't really painted one physically in a while. I like the scale of it.

I am trying to make an effort to write more about my work. With these particular paintings though, they are mostly vibes, often made when I'm listening to music. I think of this one as the cover to a lost, dark mood funk album.
