Writing some random reviews to prove that I didn't register this account for nothing.

I was doodling some random shapes for ""plutonic city map"" until suddenly I was reminded with MtPain27's review on this map, so I decided to have a try.

This map is vanilla-compatible (meaning that the mapper will have to endure the major pain in the ass that is visplane overflow and other shitty limitations) Took me around 40 minutes in-game-time and probably an hour irl to complete, I didn't track it. Got most of the kills and 7/12 secrets. So I assume the rest are either obscure closet monsters or triggered by the secrets I missed.

Naturally you will want to compare this map with Mutabor, so I did. This map has a lot more varieties in terms of visual themes (rather than one for the whole map... lol) And it's more divided like your usual magnum opus in contrast to Mutabor's hyper-interconnective layout. The stock texture usage here is clean and efficient, though I'm not the biggest fan since to me, IWAD textures usually work best when the map is either extremely detailed or have enough (gradient) lighting to back it up, which vanilla exe doesn't like.

The gameplay is very easy by turniquet's standards, and most of the bodycount is included in incidental combat. This doesn't mean it's not engaging, though. Playing through this map (and Mutabor as well) gave me a very strong Crumpets vibes with its relaxing pacing. Or something like Cydonia. However I will say that the key encounters here are more memorable compared to Mutabor's, while Mutabor's regular encounters are more dangerous and scripted. I don't think there is a single fight that is hard or dickish enough that can end one's FDA. It certainly is family-friendly, and most players will have a good time with its atomsphere and exploration(including me) But I'm going to guess people expecting to face some serious challenges might be disappointed.
