idk what it is about the name Elizabeth that immediately makes people ask "can I call you [insert nickname here]".
Like, yeah, I don't mind people shortening my name, but like... keep in mind that Elizabeth in its long form was the name I chose for myself. It's why all my handles refer to me as Elizabeth Lazuli instead of like Beth Lazuli or Liz Lazuli.
I guess people are lazy and just don't feel like typing out Elizabeth and sometimes I'm guilty of being too lazy and shortening names, but as someone who hates being called Em, I don't blame you and I have other friends who don't like having their name shortened so I've tried my best to be conscious about it.
