1. Find a public domain song from the 1920s to sample

  2. Realize the audio quality is shit, so find a modern copyrighted recording of a vaguely jazzy song instead

  3. Realize the audio quality is too good, so slap a "vintage" filter on it and slow it down by 0.1% so it sounds worse than that first track

  4. Resist the temptation of adding nonsense like a beat or any other artistic touches, as the extreme effort might burn you out and will ruin the nostalgic aesthetic

  5. Upload the song to Youtube, Spotify and a million other streaming services, making sure to steal the cover image from some other artist (stealing is sad so it adds to the nostalgia element). Then wait until it takes over the algorithms and the original, boring sample is impossible to find, since even stuff like Shazam will redirect to your song.

  6. Wait some more until your completely original song makes its way into my discover weekly playlist every fucking week and reap my spiritual energy, unnaturally extending your lifespan

  7. Enjoy!
