My experience as a long time PC gamer has been excellent. For example, trying to play Elder Scrolls Online or Diablo IV involves using a program to get them running. After all of that work for ESO, I still had to suffer through compatibility issues with the launcher.

With the Ally, it's Windows, so I just click through like normal.

As for the library, it has Armory Crate where it is a lot better at detecting and allowing you to include non-Steam games than Steam is. It also lets you modify the TDP settings per game as well as the rear modular buttons, much like the Steam Deck. You can still use Steam Big Picture mode to maintain that same browsing experience as on the Deck, if you prefer. And naturally, you still have access to Steam input as well.

In addition, my dock for the Deck works with the Ally and I think the Ally does a slight better job with displaying neatly on a larger screen.

You mean like Sega Saturn? It can run emulated games all the way up to the PS3. Most games that won't run well do not run well because of the emulator.

It can also do a respectable job with Yuzu. Since I hardly ever pick up my Switch anymore, I may have started a new Animal Crossing island.

Has it been convenient to use? I ask because I saw a video of a person saying they sold theirs because it wmhad little problem after little problem. Just way too inconvenient to use on the whole. Especially in comparison with the steam deck (I don't have either device personally).

I've seen some people make those comments and, as a long time PC gamer, I have trouble understanding it. In my little time with it, I have loved not having to worry about compatibility, unlike the Steam Deck. Diablo 4 works great on the Deck, but having to use Lutris just to get the Battle.ney launcher working was annoying

You can tap for a left mouse click and desktop mode lets you use the analog sticks to move and drag the cursor. It's not as great as a mouse, but for normal desktop use, it's great. I think the Steam Deck on screen keyboard beats the Windows one because you can use the touch pads, but you always have quick access to it since the rear pads are modular buttons much like on the Steam Deck.

It's also a LOT easier to swap the SSD on the Ally. I do think that micro SD cards perform better on the Deck though.

Also, if you like how it feels to browse your steam library on the Deck, big picture mode now has the same UI

I also cannot understate how amazing the screen is. I never thought I'd see a screen like this for less than $1200 USD. 120hz, Variable Refresh Rate, and colors so good you could almost mistake it for an OLED. I'm averaging over 80 fps on Elder Scrolls Online, and it just feels so smooth.
