use another app. people will check it more. they're required to be in so many discord servers if they're Online that all of them get ignored. Discord is a terrible interface for it.
you'll see huge gains just by having an actual app with less noise than discord, because people will actually check it there. But you can't do this for everything or you get the same problem.
the modern web sucks, store and forward mailboxes or like, even just rss or at least servers with more than one topic, was the way and we lost that. I only want to see channels I need to care about and everything else shouldn't exist unless I'm pinged, if even then
I have 9 friends who have me in their server, each with an 80% overlap in participants. You have to look at all 9 to be able to participate in conversations with the majority of your social circle, because no one has the same slice, but no one wants to invite that many outsiders. It's like, balkanization if the balkans also had constant territorial disputes over where the public square was daily.
