I would like to see a smart home solution that consists of ONE (1) computer per room with a switchboard of relays, and absolutely no wireless connectivity, just Ethernet. With this solution the computer is significantly more load bearing so there's incentive to make actually robust and maintainable room controllers (as opposed to Internet of Shit single-use garbage), and there's also not a million tiny computers trying to get on the WiFi to offer a single dimmer switch because they are inside a light bulb and also why the fuck does a lightbulb need WiFi.
