I rolled credits on Pokémon White (which is before you can actually become champion, which I'll probably try for tomorrow night). Ending on three big battles right in a row was a good challenge, and my team was the right levels (just slightly below the opponents') for a good difficulty.
I had missed Black & White originally because they were during the window I skipped some generations. White 2 was the first one I came back to but didn't finish at the time, before really jumping back on the bandwagon from Y onward. So going back for White (instead of the sequel) was me trying to get the full Unova experience for the first time.
I really enjoyed the game. I'm glad I hadn't played them before, because it was fun to have an older Pokémon game that I could play "new" - I loved the region, and focusing on the Unova Pokémon exclusively (I know you can encounter older species in postgame) worked really well for me instead of them getting lost amid lots of returning species. It feels funny to say this is now one of my favorite Pokémon games when they're over ten years old, but here we are.
