INT. EVENING.
AN UNSEEN HOST HANDLES A CD-ROM CASE ON A BATTERED DESK.
DESK SHOT
He hesitantly sets down the CD-ROM CASE on the desk, and clears his throat to speak.
HOST Uh, Hi guys, and welcome! to a very special episode of the [WEBSITE NAME] game review blog. This is our - my - first ever *sponsored* episode, and it's something very exciting indeed!
The Host opens the CD-ROM CASE to reveal the DISK.
HOST This is a copy of an as-yet-unreleased game, sent to me courtesy of the kind folks at [COMPANY NAME]. They approached me via email and provided this copy for me on the condition that I show it off for all you folk to see. So, let's get started shall we?
The Host closes the CD-ROM CASE and removes it from the desk. The camera is taken away by hand as well.

INT. CLOSET
NIGHT. THE CAMERA IS FOCUSED ON A STACK OF OLD GAMES ON THE FLOOR.
An unseen hand opens the disk drive of a PC at the edge of the shot. It opens and the circular Disk-slot frames the old games on the floor. The camera adjusts to focus on the disk drive as the CD-ROM is placed inside it. The disk-slot goes back into the PC. The PC whirs. The scene cuts.

INT. CLOSET
NIGHT. THE WHOLE CLOSET IS SEEN. THE HOST PLAYS THE GAME FOR A WHILE IN A TIMELAPSE. THE SCREEN IS JUST A GLOWING WHITE SQUARE.
The host picks up, turns off the screen and slowly walks to behind the camera. The lights in the closet flicker on. The camera is picked up.
HOST [Disturbed, shaken:] I've been playing for some hours now. It's really a good time! Obviously, a few performance issues and all that, it's unreleased, but it's really something to behold!
HOST The, uh, the publishers told me this, uh, "transcends genre" and, well, I see what this means. It's really quite impossible to describe to you. It's like... like it can tell what you want and it, uh, the game changes. To give it to you.
HOST I'm, uh, thinking of calling it for today, but I’ll... I'll be back.
A REVERSED SHOT OF THE MONITOR TIMING OUT. IN DARKNESS, THE COMPUTER COMES BACK TO LIFE.
DARKNESS, BRIEFLY
A SIMILAR SHOT, BUT DARKER, WITH SCRIBBLINGS AND MAPS AND CRYPTIC WRITINGS PINNED UP AROUND THE MONITOR.
The host sits disheveled before the desk, hunched over. They pick themselves up and grab the camera
HOST Oh, okay. So. Since the last, uh, clip I’ve been playing some. I've found a few things. The game has secrets, uh, like Easter eggs? Little hidden things and I’m *sure* they mean something. I'm getting close. I've played it a few times over now and the pieces are really coming together. Co-ordinates. Not too far from here. I... think I'm ready to go. I just need to, uh...
The HOST bends over towards the PC TOWER on the floor. They hesitate, then turn the PC off. The monitor switches off and the scene is almost entirely dark. But the whirring of the disk drive continues.
The scene lingers for a few seconds, then flickers out like a tape recording.
. EXT. FOREST
THE CAMERA FOLLOWS THE HOST AS IT TRAILS A PATH THROUGH THE FOREST.
HOST I, uh, guess I should keep reviewing it. Well, y'know, it's special. Graphics are alright. Gameplay's textbook. There's just something about the way it makes you feel... Like it holds a secret that only you can find... That you *need* to find.
HOST I'm not really expecting to find anything, I guess. I think it's just an excuse. A reason to leave the house. I mean, ever since i started with this game, I've been finding it harder and harder to get out.
HOST It's uh, over though. We're - I'm - here.
The HOST sets the hand-held camera down and begins to dig at the ground. The camera shakes as they do. It's so dark, you can barely see past the area where the shovel hits the earth.
HOST [Quietly] I... Knew it. There's nothing here.
The HOST slams the shovel into the ground one more time. The ground rings. The shovel is dropped. The HOST stares into the hole they have created for several seconds. The disk drive's whirring ceases, replaced by the beeping of a BIOS. The HOST turns back to the camera, with their face sullen, and switches it off.
