so yeah, they were asking about that control panel. it is just a map on an item frame.
the first image is the location of the actual map itself, drawn on with just a whole lotta wool.
the second image is the map in place
the third image is the map stack i made, using command blocks to save/load map chunks diagonally off from it. it just has one command to save the relative map chunk into its slot, overwriting anything there. the load function writes over the ENTIRE map draw area with air, the copies the slice of the stack over. there is a little control center at the bottom with handy materials for editing. but its really simple.
and all of it MUST be vanilla. ive kept the world safe and up to date for like a decade now, because i have had a lot of bad experiences with worlds getting corrupted by mods, especially because my friends are really bad about wanting to add and remove mods over the course of a worlds lifetime...until eventually it breaks
