One consequence of being homeschooled during elementary school grades is that the only way I ever learned to do division is "long division."

no I was public schooled and I must say, I too do not know what "short division" is. As far as I'm aware there's only long division
i assumed short division was just, memorizing how small numbers divided or something, like wizh multiplication tables. but no, apparently its a whole ozher zhing zhat isnt taught to my knowledge anymore?
