i think that the people who pick the races for ff14 are cowards because they decided to take a world that has so many possible unique races and species and then only let you play as the ones that are just Humans With Minor Unique Traits and then one token actual animal type race

where's playable moogles. playable nu mou. playable bangaa. i know they shoved ivalice into ff14 at some point there's no fuckin excuses

disclaimer: i do not nor will i ever play ff14 even if they added playable nu mou but this type of thing bugs me in many a game universe and ff14 is just the easiest one to point at

i wanted to mention that the moogles are technically around from the beginning, but the proper ffta-styled one are a different species called loporrits that are only in endwalker [the current latest expansion]. the bangaa are in stormblood [mostly in a directly FFT based side story, highly recommend] and the only one of the three listed that you can meet as a free player. the nu mou are in shadowbringers [the next expansion after the current free trial, so may be available in a few years]

so yeah, youre really shorted on the good stuff as a free player anyway.
