So with my podcast, I've been needing to get rid of an echo in my recording setup. The way that I've been doing this up until now, for the past... X amount of recording sessions, has been to drape a wooly blanket over me and my computer setup, hunched over on my chair, to make a makeshift sound studio. This was because my mic has been echoey without it, and its what worked, right?
So today I figured out, after needing to move some stuff, that this entire time. This Entire Fucking Time. the reason its been echoey has NOT been because of my bedroom. But because for the last 6 months its accidentally been set to Omnidirectional pickup rather than Cartoid pickup.
Someone, please, shoot me at your earliest convenience.
Artistic Representation of the HYPERBOLIC SWEAT CHAMBER, the nickname me and the cast had given this setup. I don't think the drawing does "hunched over" enough though. Let me tell you. I do not do my best voice work when my diaphragm is like that!
