the big cat eyes mine
and after her zine
then behind her her can of margarine
i worked so hard to examine
turns to mine,
all mine!
imagine!
she hands it to me
what can of all the things
i can do to this can at all
be done today?

before i open the sphinx unlooks at her book
"i take it back, you tried too hard"

There once was a big sphynx before me
She, too, had decided to vore me.
I decided to sit
And commit to the bit
Of this poem, now writ.
Could she tolerate it?
This grotesque counterfeit
Crime against English lit.
Til at last she admit
She would have to permit
Me to go, so I split.
