Princess who begs the kidnappers to release her because she knows what her knight protector will do to them and can't handle seeing that happen to anyone again.
Takes place sometime after the events of Better Off Alone
"I'm telling you, this is the wrong one!"
"And I'm telling you, you didn't fucking watch the duel because if you did you would know that this one is the princess!"
Kallixenia sat on the floor of her makeshift cell, tired and annoyed.
She had essentially walked directly into the trap, once again falling for a demon pretending to be someone in need of aid. This didn't embarrass her, she would gladly fall for this ruse a thousand times before forsaking a single person who really did need help.
She was somewhat embarrassed that her captors appeared to be complete idiots.
"Ladies, might I help settle this argument?" She asked.
"You might eat shit, regicidal prick."
"For fucks sake that's the other one-"
"No it isn't! Does she look like a fucking elf princess to you???"
Kallixenia sighed deeply.
"We're both princesses. Lunaeris is the one that killed your king."
"A-HA!!!!!!!"
"Might I ask why I've been captured?"
"You might suck my dick and balls-" One of the demons started, before the other cut her off.
"We're gonna use you to bring him back! Or something! Because the prophecy!"
Kallie pinched the bridge of her nose.
"That's not... Nothing in the prophecy says you can do that."
"It might! You don't know! Dumbfuck!"
"Shithead!"
"Pissdrinker!"
"Oookay." She huffed. "You. Smarter one. You said you watched the duel?"
"Yeah!" The demon said, nodding. "The king kicked your ass!"
She would let that slide. These women were vile, and irritating, but gods help her she was going to try and talk her way out of this before Lunaeris found them. For the Princess' sake, if not theirs.
"Then you will recall that because he nearly killed me, Lunaeris got so upset she burned the bastard, whose body was forged in the flames of hell, to dust?"
The demonesses rolled their eyes.
"Yeah that's why we aren't killing you." The smarter one said condescendingly.
"Dipshit."
"Dumbfuck."
"No, I already said dumbfuck. Come up with another one."
"Ssssstupid... Bitch."
Kallie thumped her head against the wall, before leaning in and lowering her voice conspiratorially.
"Would you two like to know a secret about the hero that killed the demon king? The source of her pyromancy?"
The two demons looked at eachother wide eyed, and scrambled to the door of her cell.
"What is it?"
"Yeah tell us tell us tellustellus!"
"Lunaeris, as much as she used to try and suppress it, is a very emotional person." Kallixenia whispered. "She does not feel things in moderation, strong emotions consume her completely. When she is happy, she is overwhelmed with happiness. And when she is upset..." She trailed off, expecting them to make the connection themselves.
Her captors stared at her, unblinking.
"Why'd you stop talking?"
"Tell us the secret already, c'mon."
Kallixenia cleared her throat.
"When she is upset, she gets incinerating the demon king upset."
"Wow."
"We'd better make sure not to upset her."
Gods, give her strength.
"Okay, well, you have kidnapped her wife." She said slowly.
"Yeah-huh."
"Got your stupid ass."
"And you're going to try and bring back the man who tried to kill us both."
"Going to succeed."
"Okay. And even though you have not tried to kill me-"
"Yeah, so we don't get toasted."
"How do you think she is going to feel, about this whole situation?"
The demons looked at eachother, and retreated to huddle and discuss. Kallie closed her eyes and waited for them to come to a conclusion. They walked back to the cell door, fidgeting.
"We think that, um, she would... get incinerating the demon king upset?" One said meekly.
Kallixenia nodded slowly. "She probably won't appreciate the distinction between capturing me and trying to kill me, yeah."
"Fuck."
"OKAY YOU DEMON FUCKS WHERE IS-"
"Over here, love. Safe."
Lunaeris' eyes darted around the room, licks of flame accompanying her panting breath. Kallie was right there, and safe, and free, and in a makeshift cell were-
"We're sorryyyyy!!!" A demon bawled.
"Don't burn us to ashesssssssss!!!!!!"
The demonesses clung to eachother, sobbing in their cell.
"What? I- What is happening?" Lunaeris asked, burying her face in her hands. Tears sizzled at the corners of her eyes, and Kallie wrapped her in a hug.
"It's okay. I'm okay."
"D-Don't touch, burning-" Lunaeris stuttered, still swept up in the wildfire of emotions Kallie's capture had brought forth.
"It's okay, Princess." Kallie hummed. It did burn, but she could tolerate it. "Breathe with me."
"No, I, You- You got kidnapped, and-"
"And I'm fine. Breathe with me Princess. In, two, three. Hold, two, three. Out, two, three."
Lunaeris whined into her chest, but begrudgingly did her breathing exercises. Kallixenia stroked her hair lovingly as she slowly calmed down, her inner fire smouldering down to nothing. She sniffled, her last few tears coming out in liquid form and dripping down her cheeks.
"I'm okay." Kallie murmured. "You're okay."
"Do you think they'll let us go now?"
"Shhh, just, shut it and maybe they'll forget us."
