I'm Quinten, and I've been programming user interfaces for AAA games for over a decade. I have extensive experience writing games in C++, working with custom game engines, and writing my own. Some of my code has shipped in titles like Thief (2014), Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015), Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (2016), and Far Cry 6 (2021). I currently work as a contractor for Avalanche Studios on one of their upcoming titles.
My book Build Your Game Engine, is a step-by-step guide for building your own (small) game engine from scratch in C++ using free and inexpensive tools. And I'm releasing it in chapters for free right here on Cohost.
