My one gripe about cohost atm is that posts can be so LOOOOOOONNNG. They really should be collapsed so half of my feed isn't dominated by a post stretched by like 20 reblogs.

I think it's less likely you'll run into that in the future, it's very tumblr-esque with how it handles posts like that, which is why folks will usually add comments in tags instead of in a rechost! I think it's just a lot of folks having to learn to adapt to a different kinda social media :3
Interestingly there is a button for collapsing long share posts now, but it seems they are extended by default. A toggle for that might help.
Edit: I just checked and there is a toggle! It's in the settings
