So I finally discovered why people are weirdly clamoring for a Mobile App: There is an apparent belief that Apps are more performant than websites.

My guy. My dude. Friendo. All of your apps are just shitty frames around an embedded web browser.

cohost in browser:

• stuffed in the one app with all the other browser tabs
• not directly accessible from task switcher

dedicated cohost app:

• not stuffed in one app with all the other browser tabs
• directly accessible from the task switcher

this option fixes those problems on android. i cannot speak for ios

Yup same on ios. Cohost is a progressive web app (PWA) so this actually works on a ton of systems. You can do it on windows too.

In my experience the iOS PWA experience in general is way worse (not specific to cohost) because when you use a PWA as an app added to your Home Screen safari loves to do things like forget the keyboard exists and not respond to file picker prompts (upload a photo) until you force quit it and try again. Maybe I'm just really unlucky tho

i also feel like everyone’s trying to downplay the fact that the mobile experience looks like this right now. Like dedicated app or not this needs to like, be fixed

oh my god I've tried to click on that screenshot like three times already to check the notifications why is it 1:1 with the actual interface
