I've been using GMS since I was in high school, and to this day, it is still the program I use to make games because I feel very comfortable working with it. It's a good program! But sometimes I feel like I wanna expand my horizons and try coding games in other frameworks and such. I know you've expressed similar feelings about trying out other game engines/frameworks in the past, so I guess my question is: How did that go for you? Did you end up trying any other framework/engine?

It’s an interesting question. I’ve looked into other programs/IDE’s, but I’ve honestly just stuck with Gamemaker. I’m going to give Godot/GBstudio a try after this week though, in light of Yoyo’s recent interest in AI, so I’ll post about that when I get a chance! I will say, I’ve also played around with Bitsy, and I enjoyed it when I did, but I haven’t messed with it much since then. It was good for some smaller ideas, though at that point (a few years ago now) there wasn’t much in the way of, like, dialogue allowing for branching/nonlinearity. I think at this point it’s got more going on though, so I may pick it back it as well!
