Specifically about how you can (effectively) do some SM64 jumps. Anyway, I got brainworms, and now you can do a skid-jump (side-somersalt?) if you jump while skidding, which gives you a bit of a boost in terms of jump height (and temporarily reduces fall speed). So far it feels pretty good! There's not a ton of movement tech in this game (on top of the above jump, you can also mash jump to avoid getting stunned from "fall damage") but I'm enjoying the bits that I've added.
