Not sure what to call this, but I saw a post on Twitter about forbidden chess pieces (specifically Crows) which made me think of this. It seems fun to me, but if anyone plays this, lmk how it is!

2 Players, one playing Hearts, and one Diamonds.

Each player starts with the King of their suit, and then draws 5 cards.
If any of these starting cards are of the opposing suit, they must be traded for other such cards drawn by the opponent. If that isn’t possible, they must be re-shuffled. Any Clubs can be held, and all Spades must be re-shuffled.

After the starting hands are drawn, shuffle the deck again. Pick one player to start; players then begin taking turns by drawing a card from the top of the deck, or playing a Club from their hand.

Drawing goes as follows:

• If the player draws a card of their suit (Diamond or Heart) or if the player draws a Club, they add that card to their hand.
• If the player draws a card of the opposing suit, they can return it to the deck randomly, or try to barter with their opponent for it. If the barter is accepted, the players trade cards.
• If the player draws a Spade, it is added to the Omen hand.

Playing Clubs goes as follows:

• If a player plays a Club, they may (randomly) take one card from their opponent’s hand. If the card taken is of the opposing suit, said card is shuffled back into the deck. If the card taken is also a Club, it is added to the receiving player’s hand. If either player loses their suited king in this manner, they immediately lose the game. Spades played are discarded (not re-shuffled) after use.

The game is won either by taking your opponent’s king with a Club, or assembling every card (2-A) of your suit (Heart or Diamond).

When Spades are drawn, they are added to the Omen hand, placed between both players. All cards in the Omen hand are to be placed face-up, left to right, in order for smallest to largest (Aces high). If the Omen hand assembles every Spade in the deck before either player wins, the game ends and both players lose.
