just putting a list of some of my favorite SCP entries here so i don't keep forgetting their number, along with a summary. this is way better (i think) than having a literal text file on my desktop named "scps.txt" that i've had as a live document for months that can easily get obliterated.

mostly verbatim except for the html that was generated around it to keep the post small(ish)

SCP Taboo Unbelievably incredible writing all around. Cannot stress how fucking awesome this one is. One of, if not, my favorite SCP articles.
SCP-055 - [unknown] A self-censoring entity that can only really be described in terms of what it is not.
SCP-093 - Red Sea Object A red disc which, when held, allows the holder to step through a mirror an enter a parallel dimension that has undergone an apocalyptic event.

Literally master-class tier writing here. I found this unbelievably immersive.

SCP-280-JP - A Shrinking Space-Time Anomaly A black hole that was discovered in the mountains in Japan that shrinks relative to the amount of matter it absorbs. Has a button on the page that injects matter into it, but what it does is *retroactively* make the original size of the black hole larger, rather than changing its final size.
SCP-342 - A Ticket to Ride An object that normally takes the form of a train ticket or whatever the closest form of mass transit is. Once boarding said transit with the ticket, one can never get off, no matter how much they try.
SCP-701 - The Hanged King's Tragedy A play that, when performed, usually plays out as a revenge tragedy, normal stuff. However, 30% of the time, the play will gradually mutate into something like The King In Yellow with all the insanity that follows it.
SCP-752 - Altruistic Utopia I'm not so sure if I *like* like this one. But it is at least interesting. It feels slightly unfinished to me. I'm not sure how to describe exactly how I feel about it.
SCP-1562 - Tunnel Slide Claustrophobic story where a slide will transport you to an extraordinarily small tunnel where you can only crawl and can't raise your head or do anything else if you slide down it head-first with your arms by your sides. Logs depict descents into fits of panic
SCP-2111 - If You Can Read This... Antimemetics division, baby!

Turns out ghosts (in a manner of speaking) exist, and only they (MTF Omega-Zero) know about it. If you're part of that team, you're dead (in a manner of speaking).

SCP-2264 - In the Court of Alagadda Oooooh god the writing in this is very very good. This hits me in the same way short stories from the King in Yellow do. Really recommend this one.
SCP-2571 - Cragglewood Park Starts out as a memory that people have of visiting Cragglewood Park when they were a child. A memory most common with people raised as an only child. Turns out they might not have actually been only children and their other sibling sacrificed themselves to allow them to leave.
SCP-2718 - What Happens After Details the resurrection of one member on the O5 council who goes on to explain what they felt during death and what they say causes everyone to panic.
SCP-2951 - 10000 Years An abandoned mine that houses anomalous entities and distortions of space and time.
SCP-2998 - Anomalous Transmission, 2485 MHz A television signal that happens to display the confinement of an alien being named Ruhar being tortured. Turns out that Ruhar was actually a sentient idea and escapes confinement via infecting the minds of humans watching the signal.

Turns out those that were confining Ruhar don't really like that.

SCP-3007 - World of Two Artists Hallucinogenic phenomenon where people astral project into a completely, utterly, dead world. Exploration Log 3007-GV is fantastic, coupled with the photographic attachments. Paints a story of a world and deity being completely annihilated by some entity, with that entity now trying to find Earth
SCP-3008 - IKEA Very cool survival horror-ish scenario using an IKEA store as a basis for a pocket dimension
SCP-3088 - Law of the Land Decent article that employs reality warping
SCP-3300 - The Rain An anomalous form of rain that manifests in the town of Clear Water, Montana that transforms people it makes contact with into vapor that it absorbs, then replaces the entirety of town's population with entirely different people.

What happens when some people attempt to survive the rainstorm in the midst of the replacement process, though?

SCP-3333 - Tower Fantastic body horror storytelling
SCP-3935 - This Thing a Quiet Madness Made An extra-temporal/extra-spacial non-Euclidean space/anomaly that happens to exist under a high-school in Salvation, Indiana. Naturally, students start experiencing some of the anomalous properties, such as a student disappearing through the floor, only to reappear through the ceiling, and other stuff.
SCP-4231 - The Montauk House Just... wow. Incredible story writing talent on full display here.

I literally don't have words to explain just how good this is. I really don't. This is one of the best articles on the site.

SCP-4735 - You're alright again, my dear A medicine bag that comes with "Child Preparative Liquid" and "No-No Scissors" to correct your child's brain.
SCP-4840 - The Demon Lancelot and the Flying City of Audapaupadopolis A nice weaving of mythology, creation, fae, and more.
SCP-5000 - Why? So unbelievably well-written I don't want to summarize this one and let you work your own theory out. This actually fucking *rules*.
SCP-5683 - "Will you walk into my parlour?" said a spider to a fly An arachnid that is similar to 682 and needs to be terminated by Dr. Kristiansen
SCP-7004 - Insane, Wailing, Feral A class 10 realization type memetic infohazard that causes those infected to undergo BLOSSOM events where multiple screaming PETAL instance emerge from the victim that can further spread the infohazard

A fantastic long-read story incorporating body horror, relationships, an apocalyptic scenario, and the escapades of two people in their pursuit to reset the world.

The dynamic and relationship between Mullins and Navarra is incredibly well written in a very organic way. You have this progression from strict teammates to friends to potentially lovers and tense scenarios that highlight said growing friendship between them. It makes the piece feel extremely grounded and real despite the, well, Everything Else going on. I repeat myself, but damn is that some strong writing.

SCP-7311 - Insecure Facility Dossier Site-57, a sapient Foundation containment facility that has developed a peculiar, unhealthy fixation with its personnel.

This one had me audibly laughing.

SCP 7432 - K is for Keystone A keystone that, when held against a door, turns the door into a Portal Door that leads to whatever location the user imagines.

A phenomenal piece of writing that chronicles the attempted retrieval of the keystone from a unique prison dimension. You will be missing out on some incredibly good writing if you skip over this. I don't want to say anything about it, because I think the story should stand on its own.

SCP-7606 - The Invincible, Undefeated One Comedy factor

A deity with unfathomable knowledge and power attacks Miami, Florida (the last part of the article is very worth the read).

SCP-7795 - Ð is for Ðirteen Heart-wrenching story about a 12 year old girl named Mia that will always die on their 13th birthday, then rematerialize de-aged back to 12 with full knowledge of how they died. This repeats every single year.

Chronicles researcher Rebecca Larson's attempts to stop this from happening.

gonna use this as a "live-post" to update when i find any others i particularly like
