(yes it took this long to edit these)

despite being a trip to see flowers, they ended up being what I have the fewest photos of. Flowers weren't as excessive as they normally are, probably has something to do with the bizzaro weather this year + the overcastyness. Bluebonnets are still in bloom tho - hopefully more next year!

I also noticed a sharp drop in the number of early flowers this year. Last year was one of the largest flower blooms I've ever seen, due to the droughts causing ranching and grazing to drop significantly the year before. It's interesting being on the same land for 3 years. You can track each germination cycle and see what's going to be the dominant species. For example, the blue curls we transplanted from Austin are completely dormant this year, they took over last year.

I did some driving around to see what's coming up. I noticed a lot of invasives are absolutely popping off, which is concerning. Hoping for something good this year, just have to wait till June!
