My biggest issue with Cohost so far is discoverability. I mostly just followed a few people from twitter, but beyond that it’s hard to find people and conversations that are outside of your circle. Twitter’s “trending topics” was a bad solution to this problem, and I don’t think algorithmic boosting according to engagement metrics is the answer.
I think a more standardized tagging system would be good? Turn tags into little hubs rather than loose collections of posts. Have it so you know when you click a tag, you see an ongoing conversation.
Even just having a list of the most active tags would be good? It’s just hard to find where the activity is happening on here.
