I used to do perler beads a lot. I've considered getting back into it and finishing one of the few projects I wanted to do, but I wanna order like, colors directly, and get the number I need so I don't have waste left over. Is there a good site for that? Also is there a good tool to find out how many pixels of each color are in a picture lol both feel like they'd be super useful.

I think I got most of mine from Joann Fabrics, honestly.
I'm trying to remember how I figured out how many pixels of each color there were... I think I kind of hacked it using the GNU Image Manipulation Program, and the Select By Color tool + histogram? Though there may be a better way with the histogram or colorcube options... I can double check that tomorrow.

As for "exact numbers" I haven't found a way to buy less than 1000 of a given color at a time, unless you're buying the big mixed-color buckets or whatever. Those are still useful, but can be a pain to find the color your need sometimes... Or just a bunch of upfront work sorting, which I never did 😅

I got nerdsniped into writing a python-fu script that would output pixel color counts for you in GIMP. Lemme slap it up on github or something with some instructions of where to put the file.
