Game Freak shouldnt do a gen 5 remake. Do not remake Pokemon Black & White or Black & White 2.

Instead, port the games onto the switch, and make Black & White 3.

I think shitting on modern pokemon games is annoying and people going "buh they couldnt do the remakes justice" would be unhappy with literally anything, because Pokemon fans are gluttons who would be unsatisfied with the entire riches of heaven, but I do think the games dont need to be remade. Just yknow, playable. For less than 100 dollars on Ebay.

Pokemon "diehard fans": Will poo poo basically any new pokemon game for various reasons, but are likely to still buy it.

Casual pokemon fans: Will buy the game regardless

The DS is probably one of the most exploited/pirated consoles of all time. There's zero reason, to my knowledge, to pay for a copy of the game if one wants to play it. It runs on flash carts which can be had for less than a tenner shipped (if you wait) and also runs on softmodded DSi units, which themselves can be had for under $50 last I was looking. This is all not counting just DS emulation, which works pretty darn good.

I don't see any argument in needing a remake of a DS pokemon game for "accessibility", it serves primarily to give the big N et al more money, and maybe validate some fans that say the game getting remade was good by means of it being sold again (which is dumb).

Half the game is literally unplayable because it relied on servers they shut down when X and Y came out. People are trying to recreate it but it's hard because they can't find all the flash files from the web client part.

Incidentally if you still have old hard drives from when you played dream world please help

Honestly, that probably would be the smarter play. But based on the rushed dev cycle of S/V and the borderline lazy Gen 4 remakes, I doubt they care enough to that.

i feel like a port of any ds game requires considerable work, yea? like for bdsp they had to do that weird corner poketch and pretty much redesign all the menus
