My own answer to this question is Pokemon btw, like, easily, and immediately.

Cute animals I can befriend, socialist utopia where everyone lives pleasant enough lives but occasionally have to deal with weird assholes who only assault people via pokemon battles. Easiest answer of my life.

same. ultimate goal in that life for me would be to be a tournament organizer or run a battle frontier and watch the masses have fun on the stage i set for them to the music i picked out, but it seems pretty hard to live in that world in a way that wouldn't be fulfilling some way or another as long as you don't have shitty/distant parents or get bullied relentlessly at school [cough]

actual esports seem a lot yuckier lmao

the one i created for my own OCs obviously

...seriously though, i dunno. Undertale after the monsters have left the underground and integrated with human society? i could probably come up with a better answer given some time, but i just wanna smooch some cute monsters

Might just be because it's my favourite universe at the moment but Lancer. It's by no means perfect, in fact quite the opposite in a lot of ways. But people are actively fighting to make it better, even if they aren't doing it perfectly themselves. It's just a universe and story that fills me with hope and I find it hard not to want to be a part of that.

There's quite a few, but Pokemon probably remains my top choice. It's a world imagined as a magical ideal. A solarpunk utopia, where humanity has been able to be actually taught by nature to perfectly coexist with it. People are surrounded by creatures capable of untold destruction, but instead, they willingly keep to themselves, and (with some antics) be convinced to be a friend.

While there are signs of darkness in the world (primarily ghost types, especially Cursola), it's a world where people are always moved to do the right thing, and change for the better. Whatever mistakes led to such dark creatures can be tackled and undone. It doesn't feel hopeless.

And lastly... everyone seems to have found who they are, and where they belong in that world. Nobody feels... out of place. There's always at least one Perfect Pokemon Partner for someone, whomever they might be.

Been thinking about this one for awhile and it’s really hit home the fact that I just… can’t easily imagine things right now. All the fictional universes I know of have more downs than ups. Makes it difficult to decide on one, even with how trash our current world is.
If I had to choose one… I guess like you it’d be Pokémon. Getting to live that in tune with animals and nature would be fantastic. My own little fountain of greenery or buggery wherever I went. But the way it’s presented…

To be fair, these are games marketed at children. You’re not going to get complex problems or see how life is when you have to worry about shit like taxes, rent, or food costs (wether everyone in Pokémon is vegetarian is a whole other matter). The closest we got to that was BW and we’re never gonna see that or the likes of Shadow Pokémon from Orre in an official title again. I don’t know how to imagine a universe without complexity, which makes Pokémon feel empty in a way. Like, people are only that nice to the PC cuz we’re kids, right? If we were adults there’s no way we’d get the same treatment, right? There’s no way there’s a world out there with that little greed and hatred, right?

TLDR; Pokémon, I guess?
