It's bad enough that companies will just randomly kill programs and services and never back anything up, it's terrible for preservation and just shitty behavior in general.

But why do they have to make you feel bad for the thing they're killing??? This company over here in a fucking Banana suit standing over Bogo's corpse like "WE'RE TRYING TO FIND THE PEOPLE WHO DID THIS"

"We've gotten attached to the little guy too" is such a wild thing to include in an announcement post where the company involved are foreshadowing taking their virtual pet behind the metaphorical shed and effectively shooting it dead.
