This one took a while to master, not because I didn't master it in like, 2 hours, but because the set had an issue and it took them a while to fix it lol
Anyways, Travel Eperu is a PC-Engine CD game based on a children's book, I THINK. I couldn't follow the story in any real way. It's basically these two kids dressed as penguins, and their penguin friend, traveling the world. I think.
The gameplay, I'd describe as.... kind of like Bomberman? Items spawn around the map, and you pick them up and throw them at the enemy. It's different kinds of bombs, some melee weapons, some power ups. And... that's it! Do that like, 45 times. It's not BAD, but it's not overly fun, and it very much overstays its welcome.
There's no saves, though you can continue from the last world, which means if you die at all, you gotta restart the world. Which isn't TOO bad, but some levels are.... a little fucked. This game has a weird love for levels where like, there are currents, that you can't see, that send you all around. And some levels are special ones where you need to get a magic spell, and the enemy cannot be stopped and you have no I-frames. So uh, PUT THEM TOGETHER :D
It's not really anything I'd recommend, but it was at least tangentially interesting. Also I think the cutesy child penguin mascot DIES in the end, and the girl penguin kinda goes super saiyan to avenge him, it's fucking weird.
