Merry Xmas and all that jazz!
I had a nice time with the family. Eating too much, enjoying a little booze, sharing some lovely gifts, and just generally having a nice time. It does feel like it got here faster than ever, though. Feels like Halloween was yesterday! ...and even that came too fast! Alas, my favorite chunk of the year (October - December) is nearly over, when it feels like it just barely got started. Never lasts long enough! Ah well. At least we've still got New Year's to look forward to in a week. I better get started on that deer drawing... >>'
In other news, I'm working on the actual final chapter of In the Shadows of Kryckwood now. I'd really hoped to wrap it up with chapter 13, because wouldn't that be fitting? But it just kept going longer and longer. I'd actually hoped to have the arc finished well before now, but well, life kept getting in the way. At least I know for sure this next chapter will be the last one for the arc, and probably a shorter chapter as well. The main hang-up at the moment is a little poem/rhyme I'm trying to work out for a certain character to share near the end of the chapter. Writing those is always way harder than you'd think, especially if it's trying to tell a short story. I may end up cutting it and going a slightly different route. Which would be a shame, because it definitely would fit quite nicely if I could finish it. But it's really hurting my brain trying to work it out; I literally spent several hours yesterday on it, and it's still not even half finished. Once that's handled, though, the rest of the chapter should be fairly quick to finish, so with some luck, I should have it out within a day or two, hopefully.
