That weird phasefoxie thing

Hello everyone! I'm Lloxie. I'm a furry writer, and I draw occasionally as well. And I dabble in coding now and then. Just a heads up, this IS technically an 18+ blog, even though I also have an AD profile where I post/share most of that kind of stuff. But do expect nsfw material to occasionally show up here as well. You can find links to my profiles elsewhere at the carrd link above, including my personal website if you want to know more about me. Or just feel free to ask me stuff!

I fucking HATE them. I hate the reality of phones as a platform. Don't get me wrong, the IDEA of having so much available on such a small device you can carry with you anywhere is awesome. But in practice, it's just... godawful.

Weee, ranting time!

Setting aside the fact that telecoms companies themselves are some of the worst and most infuriating ones in the world, phones themselves are just a terrible means of doing almost anything. Small screens (that are always exposed and too easy to damage), even smaller touchscreen buttons (I demand physical buttons, dammit), minimal ability to customize and control your experience through plugins/extensions, etc. And android is bad enough, but for Apple? Forget it, you effectively don't even own your own device and can only install and use apps they "approve" of.

What makes it even worse is just how casually almost everyone has seemingly accepted it. Seems like most folks' main way of interacting with most platforms, or at least the mainstream ones, is via their phones. People need to learn to embrace being power users, damn.

Kind of tangential, but one of the things that greatly bothers me about society (one of many admittedly) is how people are so passively willing to accept whatever dogshit tech corps throw at them with little more than some temporary grumbling, at most. Just look at Twitter (or "X") for example. So many people still cling to it even as it gets progressively worse all the time. And the #1 sited reason? How "easy to use" its stupid, godawful app is. It really feels like people just want their online experience spoonfed to them, even if its laced with proverbial cyanide.

I just know I'd rather jump off a cliff than go more than a day or two without SOME kind of proper PC. Using a phone for my online experience would be unbearable in the long run. I pretty much only use it for navigation, phonecalls (when I have to, hate doing it though), occasionally googling stuff, and sometimes music. And the occasional text message to relay quick information. (NEVER full conversations) Anything else is just too frustrating an experience, generally.
