That weird phasefoxie thing

Hello everyone! I'm Lloxie. I'm a furry writer, and I draw occasionally as well. And I dabble in coding now and then. Just a heads up, this IS technically an 18+ blog, even though I also have an AD profile where I post/share most of that kind of stuff. But do expect nsfw material to occasionally show up here as well. You can find links to my profiles elsewhere at the carrd link above, including my personal website if you want to know more about me. Or just feel free to ask me stuff!

Oooo~ I'd love to participate in one of these some day. Alas, the art resources would be an issue, at the very least. Still, good luck to those that participate!

Nooo I liked it better before!

I have all remote image servers blocked by default so I'm used to the broken images, but specifically the very well done animation along with the broken image icon over a checkerboard square was killing me (complimentary)

For some reason whenever I click on "read more" on this post the expanded post closes itself again?? (But only the first time.)

Anyway I'm just going to boggle in admiration at the pure CSS angular multi-shadowed logo.

likely too busy for jams this year, but i thought you'd like to know that 7 years later, my SB1 submission Sneks Fiend has more views/downloads than the other 16 projects on my itch page COMBINED. :eggbug-shocked:

(really want to say "what do i do with that information?" as if i don't already know the answer.)

in reply to @Lloxie's post:

I tried it aaaaages ago. Coming from more of an actual coding background, it kind of rubbed me the wrong way... like, a good bit. Still, I was recently tempted to give it another go sometime, so maybe I'll reconsider it.

It does list Twine and Inform as well as mentioning the lack of art assets, so I don't think art resources are expected for everyone.

I'm weird and would probably make a game in Java or ChoiceScript or something even more visual atheist if I went that route, but Twine is probably a better entry choice by miles.

I could probably go over various CYOA story structures before february with you if you'd like, although the engines themselves will probably be better left to help pages

I've dabbled with both, although only very briefly and a long time ago in Inform's case. I've also used Choicescript, Ink, and a few others. The tricky bit is coming up with an idea I can stick with and not lose interest in. Every time I tried using these things before (especially Twine), I inevitably got way too ambitious, trying to go for something like a full blown RPG or something, heh. I should really give a simple CYOA a shot sometime, especially now that I'm into writing more...

I'll let you know if I do, heh.
