Lloxie

That weird phasefoxie thing

Hello everyone! I'm Lloxie. I'm a furry writer, and I draw occasionally as well. And I dabble in coding now and then. Just a heads up, this IS technically an 18+ blog, even though I also have an AD profile where I post/share most of that kind of stuff. But do expect nsfw material to occasionally show up here as well. You can find links to my profiles elsewhere at the carrd link above, including my personal website if you want to know more about me. Or just feel free to ask me stuff!

Sorry, gotta vent about social media again. Apologies to my followers. I'll put it under a readmore to not spam your dash lol. And thank you for actually being active on this site. <3

Guess I wasn't done lol.

Seriously, every other bad site on the net I can at least come up with one or two positive things to say about them, but with Twitter/X and Bluesky, I am utterly at a loss.

Facebook? Useful for keeping track of local businesses, goings on, people you know IRL, etc.

Tumblr? similar format to Cohost, which I love, and birthplace of one of the quirkiest communities and a fun oddball kind of humor that's hard to describe.

Reddit? Downvotes. Seriously, negative feedback is valid and it seems to be one of the only sites that acknowledges that fact, however imperfectly. Also one of the few places you can actually get useful, real reviews or support for all sorts of things.

FurAffinity? still one of the biggest and most active furry spaces on the internet.

4chan? Hey, at least you have more anonymity/privacy than elsewhere; you don't have some profile people can stalk and use to track you down/stalk you, unless you post links to such info hosted elsewhere. (unless it's changed dramatically in the last ten years or so, I wouldn't know and refuse to look)

I don't actively use any of the above because they definitely have a truckload of cons, including some truly massive ones, to say the very least. (Well, I kind of use Reddit on occasion when I'm looking for reviews or help with certain things, but otherwise not regularly.) But I can at least see why other people do.

I CANNOT for the life of me say that about Twitter/X or Bluesky. It is. Utterly. Baffling.

in reply to @Lloxie's post:

To be honestly, I only used Twitter because it was the only mainstream social media which wasn't actively suppressing writers and creatives without demanding payments.

And Arab Spring/Occupy/Idle No More.

Bluesky developers definitely missed the point of why Twitter was popular amongst SMS users and politically-silenced journalists (eg. Egypt, Iran) back in the heydays though.
