I should also say that if Israel wins, I think it's best to not cast depressing overviews of this in a broad sense, other than how fucked Eurovision specifically is:

A lot of people (especially older generations) have a fundamentally misinformed idea of Israel and their default media of choice is willing to keep it going. I doubt fascists are organising around Eurovision votes.

Those misinformed people probably think they're voting like folks voted for Ukraine in 2022.

It doesn't have to be overwhelming mass support for Israel; there just has to be enough misinformed people voting more versus everyone else just voting for songs they liked. I mean hell, think about the Rai results this way - 40% of Italian votes were pity votes for Israel, and 60% were not.
The problem is the fucked political position the EBU put themselves in. Israel shouldn't have even been participating this year.
I get the feeling that the EBU is toast in of itself. It's a microcosm of how fascists can quickly wreck collectives if they get a foothold.
