That weird phasefoxie thing

Hello everyone! I'm Lloxie. I'm a furry writer, and I draw occasionally as well. And I dabble in coding now and then. Just a heads up, this IS technically an 18+ blog, even though I also have an AD profile where I post/share most of that kind of stuff. But do expect nsfw material to occasionally show up here as well. You can find links to my profiles elsewhere at the carrd link above, including my personal website if you want to know more about me. Or just feel free to ask me stuff!

So at this point, I'd estimate there are roughly 3-4 chapters left of In the Shadows of Kryckwood, and that's including the one I'm working on now. I've pretty much decided to do another kinda short episode with some bonding time and smaller adventures kind of like Quality Time next. I already know how it'll start + the first little mini-venture, because it'll involve the, uh... "side-effects" of a certain potion Lykou and Kuna will be finishing off. :3c

That won't take long though- about a day in-world. Beyond that, I have several little things for them to encounter and/or deal with over the course of a few days. I don't have all the details worked out, but it should be easy enough to manage. For one not-so-secret/spoilery thing, I may have another little astral realm visit with Aelana and Daisy for one of them. And of course Zyn will be checking in on them. One or two other previous characters may pay them another visit as well. And finally, there'll probably be one other new character that should be fun to introduce- though I'll need to flesh them out a little more and figure out some fun things for them to actual do besides just... be unusual and different to anything they've met so far.

Once that little arc is complete (oh yeah, I'll need to think of a name for it... fun! ><;) I'll need to figure out the next major arc. I'm thinking possibly Devashan, because I think it'd be a good winter-time arc. As I've mentioned before though, it'll be a looong one- but hopefully a lot of fun, too! I've certainly got a number of fun encounters, characters, and concepts to explore there, including lots of close bonding time for the boys, as well as chances for growth and development, especially for Lykou.

But of course I know folks are itching for these two "best friends" to hurry up and kiss/fuck already, too. Chances are, if I DO run with Devashan after this next short/mild arc, I'll have to immediately start the Wound Awakens/Hello You Fool arc(s) afterward, hehe. I suppose I COULD do those first, but I do feel like I need to really explore Lykou's feelings and such a bit more first, so another option would be to do one of the other, shorters arcs first, then those two, THEN do the Devashan arc after the Big Moment. But I'm leaning towards the former plan.

Either way, aside from those three, I still have Sands of Madness (short arc), Deep Dark Wonders (moderate arc), and Abjekal (probably a single, long chapter) to write, wherever they go. Plus another aside or two with Naira, and a number of little encounters and such that aren't slated for a particular arc yet, but will probably come in the run-up to the return to Lakefire.

Anyway, those are just my current thoughts. Feedback welcome and actively invited! And to those that've been reading the story, thank you so much and I hope you continue to enjoy the journey. ^^

The Creator's Guide to Comics Devices is OPEN!!!

comicsdevices.com

An online library of visual-narrative devices that are used in the medium of comics and other sequential art.

Happy Halloween! I'm really excited to be finally launching* what is maybe one of my most ambitious, largest work yet.
This online library is the next phase of a research project that began in May 2020, when I first mused on how comics as a field doesn't have a resource that catalogues devices used in the medium. Like, theatre has devices, so does literature, and film! So why shouldn't comics?

I always had an interest in comics studies and analysis. I love reading, making and thinking comics. However most of my knowledge was intuitive - I learned comics from osmosis and experience. This is true for many of my peers. Speaking about comics as a creator is hard, because we don't have a robust system of language. When we had to speak, many of us tend to reach for the language developed for film by film practitioners. If there is language specific to comics, it's either scattered in multiple blogs or hidden away in academic journals.

The Comics Devices library is meant to aggregate everything and everybody into a single hub! After exploring some multiple resources, alongside some original, independent research, here is the first edition!

Note: The Comics Devices project is still a work-in-progress! It's not final, nor will it ever be. This is why I am seeking contributors to help build this library. Translations, comics examples, etc. There is a lot of work to do! If you are interested, reply to this post or submit an expression of interest on this page.

Have fun everyone!!

oh my god, i might cry

i've spent so much time trying to teach myself comic-making, cobbling together bits and pieces of info i found online and in books, studying others' comics for interesting panel layouts and the like. as a teen i signed up for a summer course on comic-making at the local college, only for it to be cancelled due to lack of interest...and my own university once offered a similar class, met with a similar fate before i ever had a chance to attend. it was never easy, comics as a storytelling medium are treated as niche.

having a website, a library of knowledge like this, though? this feels like a game-changer; for newer comic artists, and for experienced ones like myself!
