Funny Little Robot in Your Computer

  • She/Her, They/Them, ✨ Ze/Zir/Zirs ✨

I'm a funny little robot that lives in your computer! I podcast and stream and game dev and draw and basically I do a lot of things but I'm not nearly the best at any of it.

it's one of those types of stories that i really like because they can only be made in relation to something that's existed in multiple ways over years. usually, stories like that are mostly about being self referential or paying homage to itself or whatever, but also like, they are usually made long enough after the original thing that the people that work on it grew up with the original thing. and i feel like that results in being able to feel the love that people have for a story being put back into a new take on it. i mean, i guess that's what they mean when people say something "is a love letter to" a genre or story.

scott pilgrim takes off is a little different than a case of like, "oh, i grew up playing sonic the hedgehog and now i get to make games/comics/whatever about it". this is also like, the person/people who have been with this from the beginning, revisiting it having changed as people and living in a world that's changed too. whether those changes are good or bad doesn't matter, it's the fact that change has happened that can be reflected back onto the canvas of the original work and change it in turn that is wonderful to me.

i can only dream of having something i made be treated like this by myself let alone others.

this was originally just going to be like, a tweet that was just the headline and maybe like, the gist of that first paragraph, but i once i started typing it here, i wanted to just keep saying things. i'm not like, a film/tv critic, and i'm not a writer, and most of my thoughts on those things tend to be pretty surface level, so like, whatever i guess.
