An artist friend of mine basically dropped off the face of the earth like 2.5 years ago and messaged me that they're back. After chatting for a bit we had essentially this conversation
Her: Wait what is this X thing?
Me: Oh it's just Twitter but rebranded, no one calls it X
Her: Why is it pushing a lot of shitty political stuff?
Me: Musk has been pushing a lot of shit
Her: Isn't he a nazi?
Me: Yeah
Her: Why haven't they banned him?
Me: He owns the site now.
Her: Wait, why did he buy it?
Me: Because he talked a lot of shit and had to to avoid fraud
Her: To hell with this, I'm just deactivating my old account since I'm not using a Nazi-owned site
So bizarre feeling having to explain that.
