It’s extremely culty. It doesn’t actually recommend anything. It really doesn’t show that the person saying it actually understands the theory. Even as a joke, I feel it’s promoting an idea that theory is something to be held as gospel.
If you’re going to be the person dispensing your wisdom, show your work that you know it. Don’t expect others to explain your ideas if you’re dispensing your wisdom.
The turnaround of me seeing someone use that phrase a lot and then finding some really questionable takes just gives me a gut reflex of seeing that phrase gives me the gut reaction to peek into their closet to see just how many skeletons are there.
Not that people don't need to be better or need to be reminded to don't do heinous shit. It's just that specific phrase that when I see parroted just gives me a red flag.
