bluesky is twitter but with all the features that allowed someone to stay sane while exposed to twitter removed, and with a core userbase of all the most powerful posters and drama hounds from twitter. it will take time but i feel like that place is going to go off like a criticality accident

competitive insanity awaits us in internet hell, and that is LITERALLY exactly what they (jack and related, idk who all is actually involved in BS) need. more clicks, more hours dialed-in to the overly online drama-run-of-the-day, more ads, more cults of personality growing like bacteria on an agar plate. horrifying, how much we need in order to be satiated. i don't even know if that's the right word, cuz it's not satisfying at all. i feel like in 20 years someone is gonna write a really good break-down of how insane this period of time online was. scary!

It feels so weird to see everyone eagerly running off to "Twitter! Again! By the guy who made the first one that you hate so much!" but in this context, yeah, fair, probably best some of those people go there and not anywhere else
Watching with bated breath for a Well There's Your Problem style podcast about bluesky.
I've only been on twitter cuz it was like THE place after tumblr fell off, but seeing everyone clamour for blusky invites has been a real eye opening "wait, you guys LIKE using twitter?" moment
