It is hilarious how fucking inadequate the automatic content tagging is on bluesky. Like, when "regular people" were posting hog and hole, it failed from time to time.
Now with the influx and POST POST POST of furries flocking to it, it is showing that it is an incredibly bad idea lmao.

the ai tagging was very much not made thinking of fursuits or even the dang furry pornographic art.

I know I should not anthropomorphize but "doesn't look like anything to me"

basically, the devs really did not make this platform for the userbases they got

They wanted reactionary crypto chud enlightened techlords

they got messy queer shitposters

and now they have The Furries.
Their ideology and trust in automated tagging crashing against users they did not thought of

in reply to @Loosf's post:

Still wild that it seems automated tagging's been around probably as long as the platform itself has, but a poster themselves being able to say "hey this photo has cocks in it" is still in the consideration phases

they don't even have the claim of protocol complexity to fall back to here, it's literally a feature they already use, they just don't trust what the user says and instead trusts a computer that's made good guesses sometimes in the right situations

The Computer is Right because The Computer Is Right

and like that is a lot of their pitch
"oh hey we can run social medias without those pesky human moderators, less cost! Yay!"

and then one gets to remember that it is in the end mechanical turking so some people in nigeria are probably gonna have to categorize furry cocks

absolutely kills me that they gave the users absolutely no way to tag their own posts as containing potentially sensitive media/content.

genuinely shocked that they haven’t had more crises of moderation up to this point.
