this was, of course, exactly what we imagined happening the moment we read the earliest descriptions of what Bluesky was intended to be, a year or so ago. even back then the creators of it expressed an ideological commitment to "invisible hand" style solutions to social problems, which made it quite clear to us as someone who's been involved in all manner of community leadership and content policy enforcement issues over the years that they were on a path that would lead to them rediscovering these pitfalls. it was pretty annoying.
