Finished Goodbye Volcano High.
It felt good.
As much as I felt that ROM 2064 just missed all the marks and felt empty, I felt this one worked.
Musically though, I wish the songs had the lyrics in subtitles. I feel like I missed at least half their impact because I cannot understand the lyrics.
Some rough spots, some technical issues.
I loved the framing of choices with incomplete information, then going back and getting the full context and impact. Not gonna lie, it made THAT choice feel more important at that point.
Will revisit, eventually.
While reading a friend's review after I was done, saw a (channer written, there were dogwhistles and certain terms, certain extremely racist terms) review that mentioned that it made no sense that the characters were acting "normal"

I can't believe how someone missed the point where there's
several fucking scenes dealing with that exact point
the DRIVE TO TRY TO HAVE IT AS IF NORMALITY WAS NOT DISRUPTED
it is incredibly fucking powerful
which also that is a big point in mad max. How
life goes on. Things are ending. Life goes on until it does not.
Normality, but then
at the end, because it is the end, there is a freedom

We are going through literal catastrophic climate change
Whatever was "normal" is gone, and yet
well, people try to be as if it was not.
We all experience things differently. Perspectives.
Some are entirely alien, to be fair.
