Anyone else have this feeling of like, watching a movie from the rows as twitter just digs itself deeper and deeper into hell? Cause it's a amazing and weird feeling watching a multi-billion dollar company collapse in mere weeks. just some food for thought I guess. Least we have the glorious eggbug instead of the inferior bird.

I'd done some commentary about this as you know, referring in general to the trouble with NSFW spaces online. While COHOST hasn't totally 'earned it' yet from me regarding its security, Twitter is definitely due to contract and it might take everyone who didn't diversify down with them. Because of the platform's monopoly over microblogging and information dissemination for the general public's interface with the internet, there's no getting around its recent dramatic tension.

Some folks who just don't fucking care about topics regarding spaces online are missing the picture because they feel like Elon's beligerence towards his own staff is 'owning the libs' and 'purging the woke', but then he learns those lessons the staff had to adopt into policy the next week... and the bleeding from this man's general incompetence and lack of PR is nonstop. The crowd he is catering to is actually fucking small compared to the bulk of people who either (1) don't care / don't have the time or energy to care or (2) aren't bothered by corporations bending over backwards to appeal to minority statuses, or the gradual transformation of discourse as time and exposure to information transpires.

Ultimately Twitter has maintained its hellsite status because it is a manicured garden, not because it was somehow completely amok with random decisions made in the name of some abstract 'wokeism'. Some people, people who aren't from these fringe weirdo online spaces, do not like seeing the N-word and aren't comfortable with shouting politically charged nonsense. There's lots of non-stamp-collectors out on Twitter and that's what mass market appeal is about. IDK why the echo-chamber occupiers and social rejects (that is, people who legitimately do not mesh with neurotypical society and become antisocial as a consequence of it -- real antisocial, the impulsive, destructive, antagonistic type) have so much sway other than it being controversy and a pressure point for political power.

Elon's idiot decision making and 42(was that how much he paid?) billion dollar mistake is one that he was frankly mislead into making by a crowd of yes-men who are childish and immature to the point of making for bad press and therefore, bad sales lmao.

This kind of makes me think it actually should be the government's interest to create a real US-Sanctioned Twitter alternative. Plug that shit into every Android, iOS, and Microsoft product (linux too probably) so we can get alerts similar to your state Amber Alert /Storm Warning system lmao
