It is funny that I know exactly where some of my interests and kinks originated. When and with what, but not why

Shiny stuff? Definitely catwoman from batman returns.
Robot stuff? Late 90s popular science type mag that had pictures of hajime sorayama paintings and sculpture, but moreso the music video for Bjork's All Is Full Of Love.

I saw that video and it was literally all I could think of for days. Days. Years later we got dialup internet, and trying to watch that, streamed with quicktime, buffering every 2 seconds or so

It still made me feel things.

Furry in comparison does not feel like "a single moment" But if I had not been into somethingawful in the mid 2000s, I would probably have been a furry much earlier.

Furry stuff has helped me explore.

Feels good, helped me regain aspects I thought forever lost helped me figure myself out.

Glad I am one of those now.

in reply to @Loosf's post:

was also on SA in the mid-2000s, and while it did not stop me from being a furry, it certainly did convince me to continue being closeted for... much longer than I should've

to be fair, it wasn't SA alone that kept me in the closet, but it sure was influential back then in the way of convincing folks that furry was The Uncoolest Thing To Be (and also let's not forget how intensely queerphobic the early 2000s were)
