There are two aspects that I think are worth expanding on the post by @RunawayRadish I propagated, and that I think I will also post on other spaces, which is
well
it is relevant even if the circumstances are not exactly the same as in here.
the first one, external networking.
this is why I am reposting the "hey you can find me here" post so much. Multiple points of contact with people you care about online, not depending on a single point of failure, maintaining a presence elsewhere.
Being able to keep in touch in multiple spaces is absolutely valuable. It sucks to lose a lot of contacts, being cut off when a platform removes one, there are many that I appreciate and would like to keep in touch with.
I try.
The second one
IT SUCKS THAT COHOST is literally the best place for this kind of structured long form posting
mastodon instances do not
feel
sufficient.
Rich text, formatting, freedom of expression in text.
Tumblr fucking sucks ass
Every other social media space that is out there is extremely limited in scope, and blog aspects are not social or interactive in the same way.
Shit sucks.
Cohost is my favorite online hangout space.
Things can be better. Not everything needs to suck.
I will posting some of these thoughts in other platforms I post at, but they are so limited in comparison.
