Oh yeah on cerula torpedo bombers are a thing again

"Torpedo" is the colloquial term for the large, heavy air to air missiles used to target airships ;p

the warheads (typically tandem charges) need to be so big and heavy, and cerula's lack of a usable orbit (no gps or anything) and hilarious signals warfare enviroment (their radars are super good, making stealth tech extremely niche and ECM very important) imposes a good deal of design constraints that limit things like range. The Alliance basically has a design that's a more or less a big shore-launched Not!Tomcat that hauls two of them underbelly

The funny thing about Cerula is that the setting is Way Weirder Than You'd Think in the secret deep lore but im having both that and eating my Ace Combatesque Sky War cake too

a lot of the weirder shit i'm still deciding on but one important thing is that a lot of the historical records about the generation ship and the terraforming system that made cerula so earthlike is self-contradictory in a way that doesn't quite seem like simple data loss. And there's a mismatch between those and the oral records from the colonists. For example, the historical record and many oral records describe the war for Sol that the genship was fleeing from as being all hard-ish scifi spaceships-as-submarines conflict, but some oral records also talk about powerful humanoid mecha wielding lances of exotic particles and performing impossible combat feats.

Something doesn't add up. Something in the world's past has been, or is being, or maybe Will Be, fucked with.
